Awesome 3 year old mare in foal

"Flower" - A well-bred, pretty, elegant filly from the SD farm.  Sorry her tail is gone, a foal in her field chewed it off!  It's coming back thick and full.  This filly is one I have admired for a while, she is elegant and lovely.  She has just what you want in a cob broodmare, gorgeous type, a good head, flat, clean bone, a great cobby neck, set on her body the right way, and lots of  feather that's pure silk.  She is quality all the way around, and just lovely!  This is the type of filly that the good gypsy breeders overseas will search long and hard for to add to their broodmare bands.  This is what you want for breeding to the really thick, heavy, more course stallions, to get quality and still heaviness back into your herd.  She has it all!  This is one I would add to my herd for breeding to Lion King if I was looking for another broodmare!  She is confirmed in foal to the Wooly Mammoth for early next year (and might I say I think this is an exquisite pairing, I couldn't think of a better choice of one of the SD farm's stallions to breed this gal to!).  Price: $26,500 in Colorado.

August, 2006 - NOTE:  Flower got back to Colorado just in time for the Colorado Gypsy Cob show in Parker, CO, on the weekend of August 18, 2006.  Jeff had to leave a few horses behind in KY because of space issues on his trailer on the load earlier that week, but I (Christine) insisted that be bring Miss Flower with him, as I really wanted her to show in the Parker Gypsy show.  It was a good thing that she "made the bus" it seems, as she took first place out of the mares in her group, and there were 6-7 in her class!  This gal just has it all, what gypsy cob breeders like, as well as what draft horse breeders want in a good mare (our judge was a large clydesdale breeder from Canada)!  Her movement is SO nice that we will likely send her in for driving training soon if time permits.  If someone wants her before then, act now, as once she is trained the price has to go up (naturally).  Another note, Flower is very sweet and friendly, and is quite a character!  This gal is always thinking!  Very cute indeed!

It was a wet and dismal morning for the gypsy halter classes, so none of the "kids" were as fluffy as we like for show, but it was good English weather for them anyway!  Here is a pic of Flower beating the other mares and fillies in her class.  Many of the others were older as well!

Here is Flower just after coming out of her stall into the rain (before we had to walk her on wet roads to get to the wet show arena).  She looks great when clean and fluffy!  This is what you call a "proper cob"!  She's only 3 years old too, she has a couple more years of filling out and becoming a gorgeous, typey mare!  This show started exactly one month to the day from when Flower stepped on the plane for import, so she had JUST been through a huge ordeal.  30 days and 6000 miles later, she still had good spirits and good condition to her!  She's just a lovely gal!  (and I really love that touch of black feather on her, it's so unique!)

Flower strutting her stuff for the judge.

I caught Jeff playing kissy-face with her before the class.

Here are her pics from England in May or June.

Below are two pics of Flower in KY on July 21, 2006.  She is looking very happy to be on US soil!  This gal is quite the stepper as you can see, she moves so well!  She is so full of class, this will be a top-notch mare when she's mature, and her foal by the one-and-only wooly mammoth should be incredible!
